In 2015, three years after Emily’s treatment, the Whitehead family established the Emily Whitehead Foundation to increase awareness of advanced therapies and the need for wider access to treatment.

Since its inception, the Foundation has connected countless families with experts and clinical trials, helped pave the way for over 45,000 individuals to access CAR T-cell therapy worldwide and raised over $4.5 million for revolutionary research so more patients can live a long full life.

With a global network of scientists, industry collaborators and generous contributors, the Foundation is driven to turn Emily’s survivor story into countless more survivor stories.

The Annapolis Rowing Club (ARC) is a nonprofit, community-based membership organization dedicated to improving our communities using the sport of rowing through the widest possible range of opportunities for engagement, training and participation.  Our club members range from age 18 to over 80 and work together to share the joy of rowing in Anne Arundel County on the South River.

Our veterans program (VetsRow) supports veterans with focused team building events, yoga, counseling, suicide prevention outreach and female-only events.  Our Adaptive Rowing program enables those requiring adaptive capabilities to enjoy rowing on the water no matter what their challenges are.  ARC Youth engages under-represented groups and offers key outreach programs like Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Police Youth Activities, and community centers a platform to engage those hard to reach communities.  Finally, Strokes for Survivors brings together current and former cancer patients in a positive setting to encourage and strengthen one another.
