Rhonda Geyer

“RJ”

Born and raised a California girl, I joined the Navy at 18, expecting sunny San Diego orders. Instead, Uncle Sam sent me to Adak, Alaska—because apparently, I needed a little adventure right out of the gate! Things definitely warmed up when I met the love of my life in Okinawa. From there, Chuck and I traveled, moved around the world, and eventually put down roots in Virginia.

I’m a proud veteran, Mom, and grandmother to three children and four amazing granddaughters. After retiring as an HR Director, I’ve kept busy traveling (I’ve been almost everywhere!), researching my family ancestry, supporting veteran causes, and doing my best to stay fit enough to keep up with my granddaughters.

At 60, I became a certified yoga instructor—because apparently retirement wasn’t enough of a challenge! I also spent 10 years as a crew mom, which kept me connected to the rowing world and gave me a lasting love for the sport.

I’m a passionate supporter of veteran causes and love finding ways to give back. That’s why I’m excited to participate in the GOATs Row Charity Event—combining a sport I love with causes that matter.

And if you ever need to find me after a hard workout, just look for the nearest Aperol Spritz. One sip and I’m right back in Tuscany! 🇮🇹

Row hard. Give back. Have fun. And always make time for an Aperol Spritz!
