Tom Gallagher
Tom entered the U.S. Naval Academy from Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale New York. As a proud member of the class of 1973 Tom rowed under Coach Carl Ullrich for four years. Upon graduation, Tom embarked on a twenty-eight year career as a Surface Warfare Officer where he served on ships on both coasts, commanded a Frigate and served as the Commodore for a Destroyer Squadron. After retiring from the Navy, he was able to get involved in a wide variety of volunteer activities in his community in the Annapolis Maryland area. While on active duty his only opportunity to row was on the ergometer. Fun! But after retiring, he was able to return to the water and rowing through the Annapolis Rowing Club. He rowed for eighteen years with the club and served for several years on the Board of Directors, including as President. He is coming out of "rowing retirement" to join former USNA and ARC team mates in this great endeavor.
