I entered USNA from McLean, VA and remained in the Navy for 35 years after graduation. A submarine officer by training, my wife and I moved 24 times during my career. My last assignment on active duty was as Commander, Submarine Forces and I retired as a Vice Admiral. After retiring from the Navy, I settled in Annapolis, MD and worked in the defense industry for ten years. My wife, Mimi, and I have three children and six grandchildren. Each of our children entered the Navy after college and two married naval officers. My immediate family has USNA graduates from the classes of 1975, 1976, 2000 and 2002. My hobbies include cycling, traveling to exotic locals, fine wines and searching for the perfect martini.
