Annie Benigno

I spent more time at USNA than most of you.

My father, Richard Megargee, taught history at the Academy from 1960-1973 and I attended Hood College from 74-78.  Growing up in the 70’s made me appreciate a man in uniform: a stark contrast to the plaid pants, polyester shirts and long hair of the other young men of that era.

I was reacquainted with your classmate, Chris Benigno ‘75, in 1988 while he was stationed at the Naval War College in Newport, RI.  I was very lucky to join him at his last duty station……in Bermuda!  We married in 1997.

My greatest accomplishment over the past many decades has been surviving Stage 4 breast cancer for the  last 10 years, and I hope the trend continues.

Having recently recovered from a broken wrist, I will do my best to train in the months ahead so I can make the Lady Goats proud!! Or maybe provide some comic relief?
