Mike McDermott

I reported to USNA from Philadelphia, PA and enjoyed 26 years serving in Shipboard and Aviation (NFO) assignments.  I retired from the Navy in 2001 and worked for a defense contractor as a Software Program Manager in Omaha.  I've been married to my wife, Tina for 44 years and we have 2 sons and one grandson. We moved from Omaha to Charlottesville, VA in 2022 to be closer to family and friends and I enjoy traveling, working out, fishing, and most recently, road cycling.  I'm a Blue & Gold Officer for USNA, support our local Congressman's Service Academy Interview Board and am constantly amazed how smart, capable and motivated the current group of USNA candidates truly are.
